With lists like Canada's 100 Best that help showcase Canadian cuisine, Canadian culinary professionals are being pushed to the world stage. However, there is still a gap between those and other exciting ventures, and the general public.
First In; Last Out aims to bridge the gap between these ambitious, innovative kitchens and our audience.
Great food has never been more accessible to more people in more markets than it is now, and this would be a way to unbiasedly inform audiences of exciting culinary projects in a new, honest and invigorating way, while creating a platform to showcase emerging cooks and other kitchen staff in a medium that traditionally only favours head chefs or ownership.
With a focus on innovative cuisine comes a responsibility to demystify the people behind it, and we aim to present it in a relatable, honest, and unpretentious way that ideally will result in the audience being more informed, and more likely to become patrons of the people we showcase.
We will showcase these people and businesses by being First In; Last Out, offering a peek into the day-to-day of some of Canada's and eventually the World's best, most innovative, and exciting kitchens, farms, vineyards, etc. by documenting and telling the story of a day-in-the-life of the people that are behind these incredible ventures.
